Kepa starts for Chelsea against Tottenham

Spain International has been brought back to the beginning of XI while Edouard Mendy is guarded by injury
Kepa Arrizabalaga has been crowned Chelsea started XI for the Premier League match against Tottenham Sunday.

Kepa replaces Edouard Mendey in a goal for the Blues because Senegal International has been abandoned from the squad at all.

This is the second game of Spain International in all competitions this season, after being displayed in the UEFA Super Cup victory against Villarreal.

Why did Mendy fall?
Mendey had been abandoned from a team due to a clear hip injury.

The 29-year-old child clashed with Artem Dzyuba during Chelsea’s victory against Zenit in the Champions League in the middle of the week.

The goalkeeper needs care in the field for a clear hip injury but managed to see the rest of the game.

However, he was forced to sit with a Premier League match, while Marcus Bettinelli had been given a place on the bench in the absence of former Rennes star.

“Edou got a big hit,” said Thomas Tuchel to Sky Sports before the match. “We tried everything in the last days but he never felt comfortable to dive.”

Kepa back on the team
The only KIMA appearance for the Thomas Tuchel team came against Villarreal.

He was taken at the last minute extra time in a super trophy clash so he could be in the goal for a penalty.

Before that, his last match for Chelsea was in the last Premier League match last season when he replaced Mendey who was injured for the second half of a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Overall, he made 14 competitive appearance for Chelsea in the 2020-21 campaign.

Another change made by Tuchel?
Thiago Silva also returned at the beginning of XI, which has been used as a replacement against Zenit, while reece back-yakes fell to the bench.

Kai Havertz has also been explained again and Ziyech Judge left behind from the first team.
